The Tale of Onogoro won awards at the 27th Annual Webby Awards and the 2023 NYX Game Awards!

April 17th, 2023, Tokyo – AMATA Games, the indie game publishing brand operated by AMATA K.K., is pleased to announce that the VR Action-Adventure Game, The Tale of Onogoro has won awards at the 27th Annual Webby Awards and the 2023 NYX Game Awards.

The Tale of Onogoro was named two Gold Winners at the 2023 NYX Game Awards: Season 1.

The NYX Game Awards, organized by the International Awards Associate (IAA), is an international awards program that recognizes creative excellence in the video game industry and covers a wide range of game genres, from indie to AAA titles.

The Tale of Onogoro was a Gold Winner in two categories (Meta Quest VR Game (New) – Adventure / Meta Quest VR Game (New) – Indie) at the 2023 NYX Game Awards: Season 1.

The Tale of Onogoro honoree of the 27th Annual Webby Awards in the Independent Creator in the Game category.

Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the Internet.

The Tale of Onogoro was named a Webby Honoree in the Independent Creator in the 27th Annual Webby Awards Game category.

About The Tale of Onogoro 

The Tale of Onogoro was created by producer/director Hiromichi Takahashi and the development team behind the VR Escape-the-Room game Last Labyrinth. Last Labyrinth received numerous accolades at game and VR events worldwide due to its unique VR experience.

The Tale of Onogoro combines traditional Japanese culture and steampunk elements to create its unique world. The Player travels with Haru, a Japanese high priestess, solving sprawling puzzles and battling giant beast-like beings called “Kami” along the way.

This game was first released worldwide on Meta Quest Store on March 17, 2022. It was released on Steam on September 28, PICO Store on October 20, Meta Rift Store on December 9, and PlayStation Store (PS VR) on December 26. Then, on February 22, 2023, the game was made available on PlayStation® VR2.
